Rosa Sarabia was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She received her Licenciatura in Comparative Literature from the University of Buenos Aires, and did her MA and PhD in Latin American Literature at the University of Toronto. She teaches Latin American literature and culture and specializes in the relationship of word and image in the Avant-Garde period as well as in issues of gender and genre in works by women writers and artists. She has published in numerous collections and journals such as Word & Image, Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos, Anales de literatura chilena, Hispanic Journal, Casa de las Américas, Journal of Hispanic Philology, and Latin American Theatre Review.
