Biography

Daniel Granja-Hidrobo was born in San Juan de Pasto (Nariño, Colombia). He is a poet and researcher. He lived in London, England, for three years as an aspiring theater actor before studying literature at Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and completing a postgraduate degree at Universidad de los Andes, where he also taught poetry and creative writing. He worked in the digital archive of poet María Mercedes Carranza and interned at the guide laboratory of the Colonial Museum and the Santa Clara Museum in Bogotá. His interests include colonial studies, classical studies, Hispanic American poetry, and the letters and diaries of anonymous individuals. In 2020, he published the poetry book Una palabra menos (Fallidos Editores). He is currently working on a project about conventual writing and artisanal publishing. Recently, he has been living between Toronto (Canada) and Pasto (Colombia). He writes about parks, colonial nuns, freak shows, and the rivers of Colombia. He is pursuing a doctorate in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures at the University of Toronto.
