Call for Submissions
The Latin American Studies program in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese invites you to be part of the "Research Brew & Exchange Cafe" series.
This initiative is designed to provide a platform for graduate students to share their works in progress and receive valuable feedback from their peers and faculty members – and create a space to socialize too!
- Duration: 20-minute presentations followed by Q&A, two presentations per session.
- Dates: October 18 + November 15, 2023, and January 24 + March 20, 2024
- Time: Wednesdays at 3:00 PM
We invite graduate students working on research topics related to Latin America or its diasporas to submit their papers for presentation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insights, refine your work, and potentially discover collaborative opportunities from a multidisciplinary audience. Sharing your research in progress can spark engaging discussions and offer fresh perspectives that can enrich your academic journey.
Submission Guidelines:
To apply for a presentation slot, please send the following information to las.program@mail.utoronto.ca by September 28, 2023:
- Your Name and Affiliation
- Paper Title and Brief Abstract (250 words)
- Preferred Presentation Dates (indicate two, in order of preference)
- A Short Bio (100 words)
- Contact Information (Email and Phone Number)
Use as a subject for the email “Research Brew” and your last name, please.
In addition to the academic exchange, the "Research Brew & Exchange" series aims to create an inviting atmosphere for networking and socializing. Engage with fellow scholars, build connections, and explore potential collaborations that extend beyond the lecture halls!
