Description

About the Workshop
This workshop will provide participants an overview of Content-Based Instruction (CBI) in college language programs. We aim to answer the question of how to balance the teaching of both content and language in our particular instructional contexts. Participants will learn basic CBI concepts and examine ways to connect and integrate content learning and language instruction. We will look at sample materials and a series of practical activities and tasks for the classroom and consider how best to structure lessons. Finally, we will look briefly at different models for assessing student work in these contexts.
