Presentation of Report of the Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-Repetition

The Final Report of the Colombian Commission for the Clarification of Truth, Coexistence and Non-Repetition (CEV) was published in 2022. Over three years, the CEV recorded more than 30,000 interviews, including more than 2,000 with persons outside of Colombia, in 24 countries including Canada, the largest undertaking of its kind ever by a truth commission.

 

About the Speakers:

Carlos Martín Beristain - Commissioner of the CEV, Coordinator of Exilio: Colombia fuera de Colombia, report on Colombians in exile. Dr. Martín Beristain is a MD and Psychologist, with 25 years experience working with communities impacted by human rights violations.

Diana Barrero Jaramillo - Researcher, educator and community organizer, as well as a member of the CEV Committee in Toronto. She is currently a Ph.D. student in the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.

Luis van Isschot - Professor of History and Associate Chair of Latin American Studies at the University of Toronto. He is also a member of CEV Committee in Toronto.
