Description

The Latin American Studies program is glad to present this workshop, open to all undergraduate students in Arts & Sciences regardless of their program of study - and especially aimed at first- and second-year students who might have missed the informal mentoring and sharing of information that usually happens between students in-between classes.

About the Presentation
This interactive workshop will provide undergraduate students with information about extracurricular opportunities and how these activities can help enhance their learning experience and help them develop important skills for their careers.

Topics to be covered include study abroad programs, community-engaged learning, undergraduate research projects, and participation in community events. The workshop will also cover some practical tips for approaching professors, seeking funding and other support for participation in extracurricular activities.

About the Presenter
Ross Swanson is one of the Latin American Studies Fellow for 2021-22, and he is currently completing a PhD in Hispanic Literatures and Cultures. His research interests include Latin American literature and visual culture, contemporary representations of indigeneity, and the environmental humanities.
