Queer Table Talk

When and Where

Thursday, March 24, 2022 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Online, Zoom

Description

Join us for an informal conversation with members of our Department on how the representation of queer people, rites of passage and illness (specifically HIV/AIDS) in literature, film and TV contests and/or conforms to societal expectations of the queer body. We will use Latin American arts as a jumping off point, and welcome all students who identify as members of the LGTBQ+ communities and their allies from any cultural background to contribute their experiences as well.

This event is organized by Nayid Contreras and Jesus Porras, with the participation of Dr. Carlos Halaburda, and professors Eva-Lynn Jagoe and Victor Rivas. Presented by the Latin American Studies program's Undergraduate Engagement Award.
